When sauteing onions and garlic, saute the onions first until softened before adding the garlic to prevent burning

Marinara Sauce

Ingredients:
¼ cup olive oil
½ cup onions finely chopped
¾ cup carrots finely chopped
¾ cup celery finely chopped
1 garlic clove finely chopped
1 tsp salt
¼ tsp black pepper
4 cups crushed tomatoes
2 bay leaves
Procedure:
Sauté onions, carrots and celery with olive oil for few minutes.
Add the garlic and cook until it’s fragrant.
Add tomatoes, salt, pepper and bay leaves.
Bring the heat down and simmer the sauce for about 20-30 minutes or until veggies have softened.
Remove the bay leaves and adjust the seasoning with more salt, if needed.
