Quick and easy oven baked Chicken Parmesan

Ingredients:
2 chicken breasts, halved
1 cup panko or breadcrumb
1/3 cup Parmesan cheese
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp garlic powder
¼ tsp turmeric
2 tbsp chopped parsley
2 tbsp olive oil
2 cups of marinara sauce
Fresh mozzarella slices (2 slices per chicken breast)
Fresh Basil cut in thin slices
Procedure:
1. Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F.
2. Mix all the breading ingredients in a glass bowl. Set aside.
3. Place chicken breasts in between two sheets of plastic wrap and gently pound it with a mallet to a thickness of ½ inch.
4. Coat chicken with the breading mixture, one at a time, pressing down firmly the crumbs onto both sides of the chicken. Lay chicken on a lightly oiled baking sheet. Repeat for each breast.
5. Bake it in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes or until light golden-brown, turning chicken once half way through. Do not bake it for longer than that, the chicken will finish cooking in the sauce.
6. Meanwhile, heat the marinara sauce in a skillet.
7. Place the baked chicken on the sauce and lay the mozzarella slices on top of the chicken. Return skillet to the oven and bake until mozzarella is melted, about 10 minutes longer.
8. Sprinkle basil leaves on top and serve.
